Title: which file do you pick to check for viruses
Post by: Barr_y on July 20, 2005, 12:11:29 AM
Could somebody please help with right file.

When I am asked to select my antivirus program for checking downloaded files in Freshdown downloader, or MSN messenger which file do I need to pick when I browse for it.

There seems so many at the moment messenger shows Asa.serv but that doesn't do it. Then there is Ashsimp.2 Ashimpl  It is a bit confusing.

Use ashquick.exe if you are using a download manager.  Or right click and select scan

Thank you Essexboy.

Do I also use that for MSN Messenger when files are sent though that as well. I do always right click and check other files before opening them especially in emails.
It is just the ones where you have to select the right file for other programs to check for viruses with.

Ashquick.exe is the programme link for download managers.  I'm afraid I know nothing about IM or P2P 'cos I don't use them

OK thank you essexboy. I will try that for MSN Messenger as well as for Freshdownload. I also do not use P2P only MSN to talk with my granddaughter, who sends me an occasional photo through it. It's better to be safe than sorry.
