Title: from 1 to 1778 files unable to scan
Post by: REDACTED on June 29, 2014, 10:44:28 AM
from my last full system scan, 1,5 month ago, to yesterday, there have been an increase in unable to scan files. From 1 to 1778 files. In the meanwhile I think, that I have beeen updatede my macox to 10.9.3, and Avast have also been updated.
And Un the old Avast I could see the files in the report. Now I can,t.

Any inputs on this??

Without the list of the files (or at least a sample) it is impossible to say what's going on.

My Avast won´t let me see the details. I´ve got version 9.0 (41877) virus def. ver. 14070201. avast! Free Antivirus.
And I think it was able to show that earlier on?

This is true, in version's 9 report UI there is no way to see the list of files that Avast! couldn't scan, this was possible in v8.

You can use the "scan" command line utility, that comes with avast!, and store stderr to a log file. The command is something like:

Code: [Select]
scan -e /Volumes / 2>error.log
(see "man scan" for details)

I am sorry, but I can´t locate the command line. Maybe it is not part of the free avast? And even though I have usede macs for nerely 20 years, I am not used to go deeper than the plain user in the programs.
So I hope U can help me a little more.
