Title: system requirements

i have read in cnet reviews that lots of users say it slows down your system.  i have win pro xp, 512ram, 40 gb...its a laptop.  ive used this scanner before (free version)

what are the requirements.

I've used avast on 300MHz 128 MB ram computer one year ago with no problem. below you'll see my present system. It works great! With kaspersky personal work was awful!

Here's the system requirements published in avast.com

For a computer with Windows 2000/XP Workstation (No Server): PC Pentium, 64 MB RAM (128 MB recommended), 50 MB of free hard disk space

thats good to hear! .. i still wonder why other ppl complained about their system booting up was slow...? any suggestions on that?

Without AV it boots really fast. It's true, it takes some time to boot in, but the work perfomance is not affected for me. but if you want to have really slow PC - use Kaspersky (not recommended)  ;D ;D
