Title: Avast and AOL Explorer?
Post by: lilbump3000 on July 21, 2005, 06:59:59 PM
Ok I was wondering how can I get the web shield to scan the web pages when i use the aol explorer browser?

The standard shield does some kind of scanning with it but how do I make web shield work with it because when I use internet explorer or netscape the webshield and standard shield scans.

Is it possible to manually 'add' Aol Explorer to the browsers supported by the Web Shiled in the latest version of avast! home edition?

Last time I checked this it was NOT possible. Sorry.

AOL browser uses it's own proxies and communication channels that are not HTTP based. It is a binary protocol and we don't know how to understand and scan these.

Cheers.
