Post by: Doogle29 on July 21, 2005, 08:32:10 PM
How come when I had Norton I sometimes got several viruses a day now I am getting zero with Avast?

I think we should be told  :)

Yeah we never could match that ;D

avast! only managed several virus pattern file updates in a day on occasion ;D not to mention avast! doesn't try to take over the world and your system.

If you got several viruses a day then norton wasn't working  ;D

If you think Norton detecting rate is a bit high, try unistalling Norton.   ;D

Alot of people still want Norton on their PC, but I'll tell you that someday they'll see the light..........the red light that indicates they need their expensive subscription renewed that is.   ;)

Just to let you know, your Avatar is quite large.
According to forum policy, it should be closer to 100 X 100 pixels.
Thanks for your attention.

 >:( I think norton is a pile of crap and I've never had a more unhelpfull paid service. Since getting rid of it and breaking the $140 disc into little peices and downloading avast, I am a very happy camper, I have never had a problem since. I love telling people to forget norton and get Avast. I also enjoy reading the forums even though I can't quite understand it all I am gaining knowledge. ( more inpuuut  ;D )

Yep... Sometimes it's more difficult to get rid of Norton than of virus.  ;D And moreover, if you are home non commercial user you'll save these $140  ;D  ;D so enjoy!

man when i had norton , when it detected viruses on my computer, for some weirdo reason it said:

Detected           6
Repaired           0
Fixed                 0
Quarantined     0

( This is not all the time but MOST of the time, what's with that? )

Maybe you've add the items to the 'ignore' list... Could it be?

Could you please clarify what you mean?  For example, do you mean that Norton seemingly detected viruses better than Avast?

Or do you mean that Norton caused your computer to get more virus infections than since you installed Avast?

 ??? ??? ??? ???
