Today I installed avast mobile security beta. It's new user interface very nice and I like it.Working fine on my xperia J.
-
It looks great and it seems to be running fine. If I am already a premium member will you be issuing a credit for the amount of a year's subscription?

I think you'll receive a voucher for one year. What you'll do with it is up to you.

The new UI is definitely much better than the previous one.
Can you update the PIN Lock prompt UI to reflect the new minimalistic design as well? Additionally, can there be a way to say disable PIN prompt for the next 5 minutes? Useful if I am doing the setup for anti-theft and the screen goes to sleep.
Add functionality to lock apps only when not connected to somethinkg like your home wifi network or car bluetooth?
-
I´m also think that the new UI is much better.
Is ist possible that in the Scanning Field with % the User became a info
"time until the end scan..."

I understand what you are saying but how will that work if you have say a discounted fee which is renewable by Google play?

Loving the new UI, giving it a go and will report any thign i come across

Put yesterday. Everything works fine so far. The only section app locking can not enter codepoint- drop-down menu button without inscriptions./Поставил вчера. Всё работает пока нормально. Единственно, в разделе app locking невозможно ввести код- в выпадающем меню кнопки без надписей.

Been a long time avast user both on my laptop and on my Android phone. Installed the latest beta update today. The new UI is quite nice have to get used to it (to the new settings and new layout) but yes definitely better than before. But I would like to suggest to stick to android's new materialistic design in the future and please make some UI changes to lock screen it seems to be age old themed one. Best wishes

Finally a fresh good UI. Was waiting for this for a long time. Everything looks good and working fine except 2 things. Don't know if it's just me facing slow app scanning rate than previous version, this beta version taking quite a bit long time for same amount of apps scanning.
And the 2nd problem is previous stable avast mobile security took just 13 to 16 MB ram, but now it's taking 67 to 75 MB ram usage. Plz take a look on this matter. Rest everything is working fine. Thanks. :)

I experienced a forced closed while running a scan. Took a screen shot but I cant figure out how to add it to my post

Can anyone tell me that why Avast mobile security firewall doesn't work when VPN is activate on the device..?
-
The Beta version has a lovely interface... And the scan went smoothly... And quick ;)
-
Just upgraded and scanned everything seems to be working smoothly and fine :D
-
Been using avast on and off for several years, typically uninstalled due to overhead. Gotta say so far, the beta is much faster and promising to keep.
-
Joined beta testing. Expect my full review soon. :)
Oh and please consider this feature request: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=152471.0

OK so after using the Beta for a bit this morning, noticed a couple things... the Network Meter portion crashed when I first tried to open it; running on a Galaxy Note 3 with a custom Touchwiz ROM. Second time, it opened however I noticed the data usage was not accurate at all. ....I was streaming music via Google Play Music on my way to work - yet Google Play Music didn't even show up in the list. Other apps I had utilized this morning didn't show up either.
-
Just become a "tester". It looks good.
Seems to take a lot longer to scan the apps (maybe a good thing, being more thorough?), but everything appears to be working as it should at the moment!!!

My menu is czech?

Love the new UI!!!
Almost the same design like the ui in "Avast Internet Security" on my Windows Laptop.

Hi Deborah,
Have a few thoughts & comments on the new beta build.
I noticed the scanner took little bit longer then old version as reported above, I have 16GB Motorola droid ultra and using just about all of that 16 GB so its understand it takes sometime to do a full scan. I really like the new interface very user friendly and easy even for a beginner.
I attached a few photos of some text problems showing when i click the "Go Premium" at the top of the main screen, when I scroll through what you get with pro if my phone is up right all the text dose not appear right. If I turn my phone on angle I can scroll through and see the hole text. It's not much of a big deal just wanted to make you aware of it.
I feel I'm not testing this to its full potential and very interested in trying out the ad detector and the take a picture of the intruder option looks real cool. My son likes to pick up my phone and facebook without me knowing this would be the ultimate busted option and a sure stop to that happening. Any info on how to obtain a voucher to go premium and really put this to the full test.
Hopefully I did not confuse you with text problem, any questions or comments please let me know here or PM.
Thanks
wilber

Joined yesterday. Really like the layout & after 24hrs no issues so very pleased so far, keep up the good work. I'm using Xperia Z on KitKat :)
-
One thing that was not said about this beta is that we are not using the full virus database, which is either an oversight or kind of creapy depending on your point of view.
-
I played about with the anti theft sending it commands via the SMS remote control feature. Great but the communication log does not delete when the text says if you want it deleted and you press yes.
-
Why does it not possible to block unwanted sms or sms with unkown numbers?
Is this a "feature" form Android 4.4.4 Kitkat or bug.

Lisandro,
your posts #30-33 are OT here, this is AMS beta test thread. ;)

Don't worry pal, the main thing is that the windows devs got your feedback now. :)

Since it's been 4 days and my thread has not been approved yet!, I will post here -_-
Note: I'll be posting this to the G+ community page too.
Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus WiFi+3G GT-P6200
Android version: STOCK Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 ROOTED
Avast version: 3.0.7800
It's been 42 hours since I've installed AMS and everything is running smoothly although battery consumption is a bit high now because of the new File Shield feature. The File Shield feature is great indeed but it is not recommended for mobile devices running on battery.
Observations:
1. After updating from stable to beta, I noticed that the File Shield component is disabled by default.
2. I loved the old UI and I love the new UI too but it'd be nice to include Settings in the list of interface icons under Network Meter perhaps?
3. Updates and Avast Account should be one or do you plan on making your Avast Account's linked devices accessible through AMS like its Windows sibling?
4. I noticed that it doesn't recognize that I am already connected to an Avast Account! (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16957580/Avast/Screenshot_2014-08-14-20-58-37.png) It says: "Sign up for free avast! Account" but when clicked on it, it shows that I am already connected. (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16957580/Avast/Screenshot_2014-08-14-20-59-15.png)
5. Shouldn't Anti-Theft update its interface to match the new UI?
Things I've tested:
1. Scanning apps and whole storage.
2. Anti-Theft.
3. Firewall.
4. File Shield: removal of a PUP (Facesniff). (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16957580/Avast/Screenshot_2014-08-16-07-16-21.png).
Possible bugs:
1. When trying to mark the tablet as lost using the Avast web portal, the tablet doesn't receive the command immediately! I have to open the Anti-Theft component and then it gets locked etc. FYI I am having this problem while on WiFi or 3G and both are always working good, also my friend who owns a Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android KitKat 4.4.2 (his device is linked to my Avast account too) receives the command immediately.
2. After unlocking the device by entering the PIN code, it shows strange behavior like WiFi keeps turning on whenever I try to turn it off and when I press the power button to lock the device, the screen turns off but the device stays unlocked!
Also when I click on the Avast notification icon to open the app, the device then gets locked showing me the lockscreen!
- I've been having these annoying bugs with the stable version too
- I've been using before an Android KitKat 4.4.4 custom ROM and still had the same bugs. So maybe the Android version doesn't matter, maybe it's the device itself?
- Please, consider my only feature request: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=152471.0
- Thank you for your hard work developing such a great and free product that I proudly use :)

The note that AMS beta displays about xx events happened since yesterday, it's all well and good but I want today's events not yesterday's. Can AMS show today's events instead of showing events which happened the day before which IMHO is pretty redundant? Has anybody had someone ask you for the time then say oh no I wanted the time for yesterday night/morning?!! I see that you use the same from yesterday format for avast free.
-
So far,the new beta is good.Although it has some issues. So far PIN protection is not working for me.I've supposedly locked Gmail App and Settings but I have not been asked for a PIN yet.Plus, the app experiences a force closure sometimes on manual scanning.Same thing happens every time I click on the widget.App response seems to be slower too.And I can not refer the app to my friends through the app because every time I click on that option,it just says "Could not connect to Avast server. Please try again later." no matter how fast the connection is.
Another thing to note might be that the colour of App's UI and the small fonts are close, they present little contrast.Makes making them out harder for me.Any way around for this minor issue will be welcome.
P.S.: How do I attatch screenshots and other details here?

No idea how to attach multiple screenshots at once on mobile.Guess I'll have to do it one by one.
Found some other bugs:App lock definitely doesn't work, even with premium.I experience a force closure on the 4 th screen from the app's home menu>Go premium. Also, sometimes scans trigger even without my input and those wre definitely not scheduled.
-
Ah!Got it at last!
-
Sorry everyone!It's all Opera's fault.
-
I think I've found another bug.Previously I thought the Avast! app lock was useless and did nothing.I take that back.It does one thing. If you lock some apps, say:Gmail,it won't prompt you to enter password.Instead, say you've been reading an email and suddenly you felt the urge to go to the bathroom. When you are back, the phone's screen is off.You turn it on and find yourself on tje home-screen.Same thing happens with games, too.Disabling the app-lock for that specific app or disabling it altogether solves the problem.
Can anyone verify?
-
No problem found on Samsung s3 with 4.4.2
-
Then it may be due to the Android version.I don't have any Kitkat device so can't test that.So far,I think it exists on Gingerbread and ICS devices.
PS:Haven't tested the newest beta fully yet. Will update shortly. :-)
-
When will users of this beta be "treated" to the full virus database?
-
beta does not start

Is Avast Mobile Security & Antivirus beta free ?
-
Is Avast Mobile Security & Antivirus beta free ?
Yes. Some features are premium (both in beta and in official releases).
-
The firewall module has a side dragger which is very near to the options.....
when we try to activate the firewall Roaming menu (R) the side dragger is selected automatically it scrolls down or up instead of selecting the romaing option so i request you to change the position of the dragger ....
-
You should be able to clear the activity log at any given time. Don't see the option to do so....................
-
Have being Running for 24 hours now,
no noticeable extra battery drain, good to see.
New interface is nice, not too sure i like the ads. if we have premium licence is there a way to get rid of ads on beta?
Running flawlessly on SM-G900I Telstra version and SM-T800 tablet.
thanks
-
Hi Lee, I am afraid not at the moment. Thanks for understanding.
-
I have uninstalled my premium Avast since there are major issues with it since version 5.x came out. However, today I saw that a new version has come out - 5.0.13, dated January 22, 2016.
What issues does this new version fix? Why is there no detailed list of issues fixed on Google Play for this version? Is this a final release or beta?
