I found a bug on Avast Antivirus Free. When I download file more than 3 GB using Utorrent or Bit Torrent the torrent client would not responding continuesly each minute. The problem only solved after I turn off the File System Sheild on Avast.

IMO, a bad idea..!! (You're unprotected without FSS)
- Which version of avast! Free..??
- OS..?? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP..?)
- Other security related software installed..??
- Which AV(s) did you use before avast!..??

I just turn off temporary and turn on again after finished download the file.
- The version is 2014.9.0.2021
- Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
- No other security software installed
- Nod 32
I have another PC with the same version of Avast but with Windows XP Professional 32 it also has the same problem.

I just turn off temporary and turn on again after finished download the file.
It doesn't take very long to get infected. Anytime you turn off your protection, even for a short period,
you put your system at risk.

And torrent downloads are known for having malware included.
Torrent downloads are a bad idea. Even more so without the
file shield active. You are asking for nothing but trouble.

It depend on what you download/from where. A good example for a save torrent download is the Opera browser if you start the download from their website. btw, Opera has a torrent client build in, no need for a separate one. :D
