Title: Windows 7 32bit gets stuck
Post by: REDACTED on August 16, 2014, 01:11:48 AM
Hi,

Windows 7 Pro 32bit freezes on starting window
When trying to start in safe mode with command line, it stops after aswRvrt.sys

I dont know what to do next.
Dont have bootable disk... And loosing everything is not an option...

Could you please help me in solving this?
And the root cause.. was it after an avast update?

Thank you Asyn, but this solution assumes I have another Windows machine for doing that steps.
My spare machine is a Linux notebook. I will see if i can do those steps from this machine.

You need a Windows machine, how about family, friends, work, etc...

Did this occur after a windows update ?

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST and press fix
On completion try a normal boot

I guess it occurred after a windows update. Not use that machine a lot, as I use it as media & print server. But it is always on and set to apply patches at 3am and afterwards reboot. unless incurred into a BSD, it should be a post-update reboot.

Iĺl try this fix you send and come back with results.

Well...
I thanked you beause of solving the problem.

But I'm not thanking avast.
After 3 weeks havingthis problem at least once a week, I'm decided.
NO MORE AVAST FOR ME.
I though they were going to fix this problem as there are lot of people facing it. But they didnt.
So... bye bye.

This is not an Avast problem.  Next time this occurs after you remove avast it will be on classpnp.sys

Amazing, Microsoft screws up and it must be Avast's fault ??? ???
