Title: Still Being Resolved?
Post by: REDACTED on August 28, 2014, 07:31:53 AM
Hey i'm going to be honest with you guys, the only reason I got avast's VPN was so that my IP would stop being resolved via skype revolvers, and its not really doing its job. If anyone knows why it still shows my IP and not the VPNs IP please help I will include a few gyazo with this thread to see if it can help you understand my scenario
Also my original ip is: 71.17.97.78
the VPNs IP I am on is: 67.213.212.8

As you can see the VPN works for this

And for this...

But not for where it matters

Any help would be appreciated. If you need to be supplied with any more information please feel free to ask

Skype has stored your username, IP and some other information.
If those "trackers" collect the data from there, there is nothing you can do to hide it.
It will be up to Skype to do so.

In theory that should remove the info Skype has stored from you.
But, I don't know how long they still keep the data and / or if they will remove it permanently at some point.
Another thing it is not likely that this data is only on their servers.

e.g.:
You posted the user name and ip on this webboard.
Very likely it is also stored by Google and other search engines by now.
And who know who else have read it and stored the data.

As they say "You can run but not hide".
