Title: Unable to log in, Avast profile blocking login
Post by: REDACTED on September 05, 2014, 06:08:33 AM
My GF's mother installed Avast on her windows 7 laptop. She is now unable to log into her computer anymore due to a profile named "avastsoftwareupdater" being the only profile available. I tried to go into safe mode and log into administrator via F8 on start up, didnt work, still only one profile. This profile does not have the old profile's password either, so we can't log into it. I'm not fully sure what all happened, what fault my GF's mother is, and what fault the software is. She claims she just turned it on and it was like this, and she's unable to log in anymore. She took it too a computer shop and they told her it would be $300 to fix it, so i told her to let me have a crack at it.

Im hoping somebody here knows a backdoor or the default password to log in for this profile.

Thanks!
