I have been trying to update my virus definitions and/or program (at this point I'd really take either haha) but it keeps telling me it can't connect to the server and breaks off the download after about a minute of displaying that notice.
Anyone know what could be wrong?

Possible server down maybe :-\ you could try an avast repair and see if it helps or try again in a few hours.

I have been trying for a few days, maybe a week though, so I don't think that's it.

Try the avast repair then and if it still doesn't work you might need to do a clean install.

Click to uninstall avast then on the next screen choose repair, reboot once completed.

Thanks for the help, repair was succesful according to the installer but it's still not working... :(
