Title: Avast fire won't turn on- Windows 8.1 came installed on this computer

I enjoyed Avast's protection on both of my computers until now, BUT on my new computer which came with Windows 8.1, there are compatibility issues, mainly with the firewall. If these problems cannot be fixed, I will, at the end of my contract next year, look for another AV program. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, and am now using the free version, since the firewall on the premier version that I paid for will not function anyway.

Does anybody know of a fix, or is Avast working on an upgrade? :(

- Which avast!..? (Pro/IS/Premier)
- Which version..?
- OS..? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP..?)
- Other security related software installed..?
- Which AV(s) did you use before avast!..?
