Title: suspicious operation
Post by: VikingGail on August 14, 2005, 05:15:00 AM
at startup I get "Avast has detected suspicious operation Write file DrWatson.vxd?  Yes No  Ignore" I have DrWatson.exe running all the time because of the IPFs I get. I get the same message sometimes when Avast wants to update 'Avast has detected suspicious operation Write file SETUPIFACE.DLL" I assume the right anser here is yes because otherwise it fails to update. Insight please?
I'm using WinMe, Firefox and IE, ZA

Thanks
VikingGail

Hi, Dr Watson.vxd is created on the fly by Dr Watson.exe. When Dr Watson closes Dr Watson.vxd will be deleted.

Clicking 'yes' is the correct answer for both of the files you named. The suspicious operation blocker is there to warn about any 'dangerous' actions which may be associated with viruses.

HTH.
