Hello forum members,
What is your layered defense, I mean what do you use for:
1. communication connection protection?
2. on-access anti-malware protection (signature based)?
3. non-resident anti malware protection?
4. anti-execution protection?
5. registry protection?
6. ant-trojan protection?
7. in-browser protection?
8. manual back-up scanners?
9. on-line scanners
10. start up lists
11 traffic monitors
12. crap deleter
My list here:
1 ZoneAlarm
2 Avast,
3. Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware & SpyBlaster, Bazooka, Hoster
4 AVX Script Wall & System Safety, Monitor, Easy Integrity Checker, FileAlyzer, ScripTrap
5 RegAlyzer,
6 a-squared scanner,
7 Adblock, No-Script, Dr. Web plug-in link scanner
8. ClamWin
9. Bitdefender 8.2, ZoneAlarm Anti-trojan, SpyAudit, Jotti.
10. Enditall, Asviewer, StartDreck, StartupList, Hiloa & HijackThis
11. NTX, NeoMonitor & TDIMON.
12. System Security Suite, Toolbar Cop
This is my personal selection of security programs, and what is yours?

I was doing the same half year ago, but after I've reinstalled all my system, I'm not "jumping" anymore. avast works best for me. ;)

Yeah for me too apart from not adding samples that i submit and viewing lots of false positives here and there. I have seen better from Alwil guys :-\

Well folks,
One thing we can establish what every machine should have at least, and these should work as an interwoven shield:
1. Spamfilter, 2 Anti-Virus product, 3. Spyware Removal Software, 4. Personal Firewall Software, 5. Online History Cleaner, 6. PC Utility Software.

I think Firefox/Opera,antivirus and firewall ae enough. And using GMail as mail service (zero virus and zero spam+antiphising).

This is my current layered protection
1. Avast Home Edition - antimalware, web content filtering
2. Kerio Personal Firewall - firewall, proactive protection by its behavior blocking
3. Spybot S&D - dedicated antispyware/adware
4. Opera Browser - my true real-time antispyware/adware
5. Safe computing practices
Personally, I hate to load up my computer with many scanners or other tools that rather tautological and sometimes it's hard to maintain and waste of resources. I want something that plain and simple (but not all-in-one products).
As far as I can remember, I haven't been infected by any malware for a very long time.

I don't think that my PC must be full of such programs, so I have Avast! Home, Windows firewall, Ad-aware and Spybot. And I am using Firefox for browsing the net ;D

Already added this info to my profile today.

Main Antivirus: Avast 4.6
Backup Scanner: Command Antivirus 4.93.0
Spyware Protection:
1)Ad-Aware Personal
2)Spybot S&D
