Title: update error
Post by: Bogie3 on October 26, 2003, 04:15:06 PM
Information about current update:
Last encountered error: Server www.avast.com (66.98.166.72:80) is down.

Total time: 1:04

I am getting this error ever since the new update. It pops up red and has never happen before the last update. Is it a problem in my system or on the new way program updates? I have disabled the firewall and it still pops up.

build 4/1/289
4.1 home edition
W2000
cable
Thanks

What happens if you initiate the update manually in the avast GUI?

:-\I get this error also ???

However I can update manually.
It's almost as if Avast attempts to connect too quickly, before the connection is complete. (It just appears this way, maybe it's not avast at all) ::)

I can manually update with no problem. This seems to happen when I reboot or the connection is closed with the firewall. The program shows to be updated along with the latest virus edition. It will popup when Avast tries to check for updates automatically.

Thanks

Hey Guys! I solved the problem! Simply, you have to uninstall (by avast! option, not by Windows) Avast! and reinstall it!
All is ok now!

I think there is a problem with last Kerio Personal Firewall Beta release...Its filter is too hard!

I hope for Avast! testers solve the problem for ever...

Bye!  ;)
