Title: Avast free 2015.1.0.226 is slow on Windows Vista
Post by: REDACTED on October 27, 2014, 05:00:38 AM
HI Avast team.  I have the lasted avast free on my Windows Vista computer and a windows 7 computer.  Tonight I had to go to gmail and when I went into an email message could not scroll down with my mouse wheel to make the email message go down.  So I had to wait witch seemed liked forever but I am sure it was only two or three minutes.  I am not sure what was happening during this time but everything was frozen I could not go up or down in the email at all.

The other issue I having with avast 2015.10.0.226 is when I turn on my desktop computer I still get a black screen just before it gets to the welcome screen this black screen only happens on my Windows Vista desktop only.  I have not seen this happen on the Windows 7 computer at all.  The black screen probably lasts maybe two or three minutes and then the welcome screen will come up and then my computer will go to the desktop.  Avast free willl take about 5 minutes to show up on the taskbar this is leading me to beleive that avast free is really slow to bootup.

I would like to now is their any solutions that I can try to solve or fix some of these issues.

Thanks avast team

You can set avast to load after all other system drivers are loaded.
But yes, 2015 is really slow compared to the 2014 version.
Especially the webshield is slowing down things a lot.

Click on trouble shooting and you'll find that setting.
