It will stay a Beta for a while. At least until the real rewards (licenses, etc.) will be published. Otherwise it would not be a much a of "rewards" feature. ;)

According to what MartinZ wrote at Karma points/bages not getting activated (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=157581.0) if we don't see all our Karma and Badges correctly it might take some time to update.
we apologize for the problems but for current Avast Account users the history will be added in the next 2 weeks. There is some computing part needed to scan the history of all accounts and assign the points, so please give us little bit more time.
You're saying we should report it right away?

Yeah, I noticed that.
I just wanted to make sure with OndraM whether or not we should wait a little before we report.
I don't think that a storm of people who have this issue, like me, will be a good idea in a case we indeed should wait...

I didn't get the Community Member badge although I set the "Participate in the avast! community" a long time ago.
Unsetting and resetting it won't help...
I attached two screenshots.
In addition, I don't have the Long-Term badge although I'm using avast! with my account for way more than a year.
From when is it counting? If it's from more than a year back - than I have another missing badge...

Hello Oz, thanks for report. I checked it. Long-time membership is counted since you registered and because you registered your Avast Account on 6th December 2013 you should get your badge pretty soon but not yet.
I see, that you are a member of Avast community now. But I am right, that you still didn't upgraded to Avast 2015? Only current version of Avast is sending gamification events. Old versions are not supported.
In the export record I don't see flag, that you are community member. Can you confirm, that you were using Avast actively during last three months and at the time you were Avast community member?

As for the Long-Term badge - I'll wait.
As for the Community Member badge - I was indeed using avast actively, and I'm on an older version (2014.9.0.2021) since it won't automatically update the program although it's set to do so. (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=160247.0)
I'm waiting with the manual update since I'm waiting for Avast support team to answer my ticket since it's an ongoing issue for more than a year now.

I downloaded the mobile backup app (200 karma), attached a google+ account (50 karma) and ran a full scan but none of them were added to my Avast account.

Add 1. It actually doesn't matter which link you will use to get karma points. All that links points to add your recommendation id to the Avast installer.
Add 2. I don't think it's possible.

Hello Aron, thank you for being interested in Avast rewards. Because of technology karma points are not processed on the fly, but it has some delay. But events were captured and as I see now your karma points should be fine.

avast generating 1 link, but eventually there are 3 different links which result in one installation file.
Will you please provide your installation file name?
I think it should be something like avast_free_antivirus_setup_[your tag ID].exe (while you should replace your tag ID instead of [your tag ID]).

I just want to notify that although I'm using one of these links the file that is downloaded is avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe and not avast_free_antivirus_setup_uYWvX8Ua.exe.
So again, as you said, I should be credited?
The installation somehow recognizing this, although it seems that the generic online installation file is downloaded?

It's only little bit confusing URL naming. The recommendation number is included and you can find it in avast5.ini after installation.

We have to improve this screen. There is some complex logic which is initiated on button click. And button text must be improved. Please click on the button, refresh page and you will see right expiration date.

Well, the file's name is avast_free_antivirus_setup_online.exe for everyone, but if you look at the link it's avast_free_antivirus_setup_YOURID.exe. I hope you understand now. So, what I basically want to say is that I followed the same steps everyone does, but I didn't get any karma for that. So the recommendation was not registered into my account, and I think that something might be wrong with my ID.
matej.plch said that you can find your ID in avast5.ini. Well, I can't find mine (see my previous post).

I hope someone can investigate what happened with the installations from the ID I provided (dQ3Mw0WR, the one from my account), and if that's really the ID linked to my account or there's some sort of mistake. Thank you.

Hello keloo05. You can't see recommendation number in your installation. Your recommendation number can be seen in installation made from file downloaded from your recommendation link. I personally tried install Avast from your link and your recommendation number can be seen in avast5.ini (but you will not get recommendations for this installation because I immediately uninstalled it).
Number of installations made from link you provided is 0. So although you provided link to your friends, they didn't install Avast using that link. Or they were not using Avast for enough time. Keep in recommending Avast and your will get your badge and karma as soon as someone really use it!

Hello lindaj. Your case is the same case as keloo05's one. You probably sent recommendations link, but it is not enough to count it in your karma. I see that nobody used your recommendation link. Keep in recommending Avast and be sure that as soon as someone will really use Avast from your link you will get what you deserves ;).

Hello. You got your karma points for forum posts and full scans you did on 25th November. You can't get karma points every time you do some action- this is our protection against misusage of this system.
I will investigate why you didn't get points for Backup install.

Unless the profile information to the left of posts reads "Avast team" then they aren't going to know. Even then all Avast team members aren't going to know only those actively involved in the my.avast.com development, such as those Avast team members that have already responded in this topic.
I don't know if simply installing is enough to get anything registered - a number of backups over a time frame (unknown) to show you are actively using the function would be more appropriate.
Personally I feel this Karma and Badges frippery is the stuff of social networking/chat rooms and security companies should stick to security related activities.

Thanks for additional info. We were able to reproduce your case and this is an issue we thought it has been already fixed. But it seems, that there is still some problem. So you did everything right, but there is a problem on our side. I can't say when fixed version of Avast Backup will be released, but we will fix your karma as soon as it will be done. Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks a lot for report. Don't worry gamification is still in beta, so you are not missing anything (rewards etc.).

Till today I cannot see in MyAvast anything about my license. But all of my devices protected show in device->information page that my subscription for Av IS is relevant.

I just paid for and loaded avast onto my computer and mobile device. no karma no badges and I thought that paying for the computer service would also cover my mobile device. Is that true?

I have recommended lots of people which is really more than this number 21. So that the future counting recommendations are not counting as karma points.

Is there any progress in sight? I have still not mobile backup badge even though I have downloaded them on my phone and tablet two weeks ago. When Avast is no longer beta? ???

This goes for all of us, right now not much till Avast decides how to reward us for all of the points we've accumulated.
I have given away quite a few licenses to friends since I only have so many computers. :)

At least two of my badges aren't showing up, the community member, even though I have it ticked in my settings. and the long-term user. Seeing as I've been using Avast since I was in college and that's a good 4 or 5 years ago... i definitely think I qualify for that one. :-\

Can some Avast representative tell us based on what is the reccomendation added to your account, and how long can it take? Is there a certain task that has to be completed by the recommended user (like full system scan, quick scan) ?

It's not the recommending that counts it people using the special link you supplied, installing and registering the program
that gets you credit. :)

As has been mentioned installing it doesn't automatically update the my.avast.com account - installed, linked to your my.avast.com account and used for a period of time.

Today we finalised analysing account history so you should see all you Karma and Badges correctly. If not, please report it here.
i use both the "avast online security" and "mobile security" However i have not received the safe browser or mobile security badge. i first signed up via mobile and later added my pc so i should have the mobile badge

I honestly can't see the purpose in a leader-board, this isn't golf or gaming.

It will take me forever (and I have been using avast for over 11 years), as I don't give out the referral link to those whom I recommend avast. I require no incentive to do that and give them a direct link to download avast free.

Recommendation is only the first step, those you recommended it to have to:
1. install it using your unique URL.
2. register it and use it.
3. I presume that they would have to use it for a little time before you actually get credited for it.
As an avast user I can't say when it will pass from beta to live.

If thee is no license to download, what points do you have ?
As far as how long to wait, that is unknown as the points qualifications is still in beta.

If your license wasn't notified to you previously in my.avast.com so you could download it, then you would have to wait until the beta testing of this 'new' points system is finalised.

Where were you told this and crucially when ?
It is only recently that the license related to points previously it was 15 recommendations to friends, etc. once they had installed and registered avast.

As has been mentioned many times installing it doesn't automatically update your my.avast.com account.
They have to install it, register it and user for a period of time (not known) before you are credited with the recommendation.

Please don't use CAPS, it is classed as shouting - I have answered your question, in the post directly above your post. It takes a little time before they will be credited to you.
Otherwise they could install it and then uninstall it - there has to be a period of use.

My account here is from 2008. According to Avast I have 48 friends from over a year ago who have already installed Avast from my recommendation.
04.08.2014 I downloaded my Avast Internet Security 2-years license. Accordingly program license expires on 04.08.2016.
Now on my.avast.com account there is only this license and no other. Where is my 3-years Avast Internet Security license?
I wait long enough to get that license, so I suspect incorrectness in Avast and attempt to deceive me (and probably not only me).
