Hi, when I run a boot time scan I am getting messages on lots of files, each says error 42006, does anybody know what this means??

Can you give us a few examples of the file names? (where this error is reported)

I am getting them in

file C:\SFP\devices\midi\midi merger4.dev error 42006

file C:\SFP\devices\midi\midi merger8.dev error 42006

file C:\SFP\devices\midi\midi monitor.dev error 42006

file C:\SFP\Presets\PitchSEQ.pre Error 42006

These are a few, there were more and they all come from my Creamware Pulsar Sound cards directory but i have also got these ones

File C:\ system volume information\_restore{5ce0afa3-495f-b875-bab6d8bae208}\RP6\A0001132.nfo Error 42006

File C:\ system volume information\_restore{5ce0afa3-495f-b875-bab6d8bae208}\RP80\A0017358.dll Error 42006

42006 error is related to AVAST_OFFLINEFILE File is not present on drive > migrated to offline device !!!
as you can see in the link posted by David.
Maybe temporary files that can't be scanned by avast!
The ones from system restore could be 'deleted' disabling this feature, booting and enabling it again.

If you scan the same files using Simple User Interface (with maximum sensitivity) - do you get the same errors?
