Hello
For whatever reason today everyone in Garry's Mod community who use Avast as their main anti-virus ran into problems starting the game.
When you try to start the game, avast quarantines the hl2.exe file. Stating that it's something called "Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]".
I assume that someone falsely reported the file. And I hope that someone at Avast sees this thread and fixes the problem.

Para-Noid, reread the initial request. ;)

I did read his request. His request does not make my links useless.

Great, thank you very much. I instantly did that. No doubt someone else might have done it as well by now. :)

That's... just the Steam forums. Doesn't have anything to do with my issue besides what's written in the thread in that link.

Same precise issue here. I can't open Gmod at all at the moment, even clicking to restore the file and add it to the exclusion list doesn't seem to stop it.
I can verify the cache on Gmod to make it download another hl2.exe but avast immediately throws up the same warning and quarantines it.
I've reported it as a false positive.

I got an answer from Avast. :)
