Title: False positive with Avast?
Post by: REDACTED on January 07, 2015, 02:12:28 AM
First time ever for this message.  "Your network is accessible from the internet".  Directions were to go to my router (CISCO), Remote management access and to check "DISABLE".  It was already set to disable, toggled it back and forth, saved it with disable checked. Reboot the router, ran the scan again, same message.  Do I need to investigate this further or is it a False Positive.

If you mean on the administrative section of my router, then yes I did.  I made a very long string of random letters/numbers/symbols.  Just finished multiple check with GRC, only error was port 80 open.

Just finished multiple check with GRC,
when running GRC, be aware that it is the first firewall you are testing   ;)

meaning, if you are behind a ISP box with a firewall in, then it is the firewall in that box you are testing, the test may never reach your router firewall or computer software firewall

to find out, turn of your router/computer firewall and run GRC test again.....same result? ...then you are behind a ISP firewall
it is all explained on the GRC site
