Title: Annoying issues
Post by: REDACTED on January 11, 2015, 10:26:30 PM
Making this short, the 12th of December last year my computer forced me to download Windows 8.1 and in the middle of the download, a download file got corrupt. This lead to my computer giving me an error message saying I have to restore my computer so I clicked ok (only option) and so I assume it did. 10 minutes later my computer started and everything looked fine except that I couldn't access any file at ALL, couldn't connect to the internet even tho it said I had connection etc. I later called one of my friends who's a computer expert (sort of) and he said that one of his work mates had the same problem and it's the anti-virus program that is blocking everything from being accessed because of the update, it didnt recognize the change. So I uninstalled Avast and re-installed it and then everything worked. Problem now is that I bought premium, I think. or the other one. Anyways I bought Avast for more security but now I can not find the e-mail adress I used before. I only use 1 e-mail adress for regestering, but in cases like this where it's about anti-virus programs where you have to buy for premium etc, it's my mom who normally uses her e-mail and she also only have one, thing is neither one of our adresses worked.
I wouldn't use a completely different e-mail adress for downloading a program that gives high class protection to my personal files.
So either I did, which is highly unlikely OR we just lost the login + what we bought which also sounds highly unlikely.
I would definently re-buy it because Avast is really good but it just feels stupid that I had to go through all this which took a month for me to fix my computer, all because Windows 8.1 couldn't cooperate with Avast.

Some helpful tips or anything I can do?
Help would be highly appreciated, thanks.
