Title: Cheapest way to protect home 2012 R2 Server?

Ive just bought a cheap server that came with 2012 R2 Essentials, and looking for affordable AV for it.  My home computers use avast free, which is more than adequate... so whats the cheapest way to protect my server?

Since it is a server, you will need a server version.

Lol.. yeah like that's affordable for a home user!

States on Endpoint Protection:

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and Server 2012 R2 (any edition with latest Service Pack, x64bit, incl. Small Business Server/Essentials, except Server Core)

So that should do for $39

..Although now im not sure, as some of the icons are greyed out...  Ill just try it out and see!

Not very clear their website really...

Oh well... bought 3 licenses for 3 years of Symantec Enpoint Protection Small Business Edition for £62!.. which includes server!.. from an authorised retailer!  bargain!

The Endpoint Protection Suite does include Server Protection. Also now you can protect the Server for free with the new Avast for Business (business.avast.com)
