After lunchtime today 12:00pm EST, we started receiving calls from across our 92 sites that our users lost their sound. We found that AVAST started flagging audiodg.exe as a malware infected file.
We are now seeing multiple .exe files flagged that are not infected. I am setting up exclusions in the admin console as quickly as I can and I have shut down scans. What is going on AVAST?

Did you apply the hotfix(es) for the memory leak in that file?
As what does avast report it exactly?
What shield is detecting it?
What exact avast version(s?)?
-
We have not applied any hotfixes to my knowledge.
I'm not sure what shield is detecting it, how can I tell?
AVAST reports is as WIN32:Malware-gen. We are running Windows 7 devices.
We have AVAST 8.0.0.1603, with VPS 150205-0.

Hello,
you can use https://support.avast.com/ -> Avast Virus Lab or pack the detected files to i.e. zip archive and upload it to our ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming/ and post the uploaded filename.
