Title: Why is version info considered something to be password protected?
Post by: REDACTED on February 25, 2015, 09:42:55 PM
Avast Free 2015.10.0.2208
Windows 7 Home SP-1

I password protected Avast so its settings cannot be changed without entering a password.  I noticed that I cannot get version info for Avast unless I go into settings which then requires a password.  Obviously this is not something that needs to be protected.  The settings screen contains information that it should not contain.  Information, like "About Avast", that does not need to be protected should get moved out of the settings screen and back to the main UI.

Just to post this message to note the version of Avast required that I enter a password after clicking on Settings because "About Avast" for version information is in the WRONG place.  Showing version information is obviously not a user-configurable setting.
