One of my frds frd gave me an Avast Internet Security key of 1 year.
He said its genuine & got from his cousin.
The key is something like avastlic.
When I opened it with notepad, it has quite a few things written in it.
I installed AIS trial & activated with the key & was successful.
But then I uninstalled AIS as dont know if the key is really legit or not coz mostly I have seen keys like serial nos & this Avast key is different.
Can anyone show me how the Avast key looks like & if possible how it looks like opened in notepad?

If it is a avastlic file then it should be genuine, as i think they are only sendt in mail from avast after you pay

I was trying to find out screenshot of Avast key & if possible opened in notepad or something but couldn't.
I have noticed on torrent websites uploads like Avast 2, 3 50, etc... years licence.
I downloaded a 2 years AIS lic from torrent to check how does it look like.
And it looks the same as the key I have i.e opened in the notepad both keys looks same with little difference like email, key no, code, etc...
So may be the key I have is really legit.
The thing is I thought if the key is not legit then Avast may not perform correctly.
Though I had checked the realtime protection with harmless samples & was working properly.
All the other things like settings changed, features enabled/disabled, etc were also working fine.
This torrent key also looks like the real Avast key.
I guess will check it activating under shadow defender. Checking activation under shadow defender will not harm the system in any way, right?
