Title: Cannot update server or mirror - package broken
Post by: REDACTED on March 03, 2015, 04:03:49 PM: I cannot update the actual avast server program - errors with:
"Cannot check from program update.
Error message: Unable to download manifest file.
"

Program version: 1.3.3.42 (Small Office Administration)
DB version: 1450

Also when trying to update the mirror for the clients it receives: "Error - The package is broken. (20000011).

Hi,

We do not use proxies here.

I can access http and https traffic from the server.

I use the Enterprise Administration Console, so it might be different for you, but I am able to go to the Programs and Features and uninstall/change the Avast! console. In that windows that pops up, you can check for updates to the program and specify proxy settings, including a Test Connection option. Might be somewhere to start.

Nothing is blocking it. Re-installing does nothing. Repairing does nothing. Deleting the temp mirror folder does nothing.

Post by: REDACTED on April 02, 2015, 05:28:41 PM: I wish I had some more insight for you, but I also use the Enterprise Console so I'm not sure how it differs.

From what I have gathered quickly through other references to this error there are two solutions to try:
1)Repair your installation through add/remove programs. (Or re-install using the installer for the newest version)

2)Turn off all firewall(s) and content filtering and see if the update works.

Is it possible you are not logged onto this machine as a user with administrative rights?
