Since the new update the location tracking on the maps no longer display the dots and connecting lines (trace) correctly.
Is this a known issue?
-
Here is a screenshot showing the problem:
http://grabilla.com/05305-93f87b4e-d9af-4499-a92c-c0dc8037ab8d.png
It was working just fine, all dots were in the right place and the trace line connecting them properly, just until the last update a few days ago.
Is this a known bug? Is it being fixed?
Thanks

Just coming to the forum to see if there was a reported issue for this . . .
I can confirm this . . . the mapping is messed up and showing up like the image posted by doclucas.
Well at least they added the direction on the call list now.

Wow, problem still exist and nobody from AVAST even bothers to respond...
This company level of support kinda reminds me Arnold's Terminator 4 fun phrase:
"Talk to the hand"

doclucas, you are not the only one who is mentioning something.
Just have patience.
avast sure will look into this and change things.

We are investigating this issue - it seems to be present only under specific conditions and we are trying to replicate it so we can fix it for one of our upcoming updates.

I'm just adding another voice to a recent problem (I assume, since last update) - when tracking, the proper locations show up on the map, but the line is not continuous; i.e., between tracking points, the connecting line goes to some point off-screen, then back to the next tracking point. The tracking log appears correct. I suppose you could say the line is continuous, but goes to some unknown location between actual tracking points, rather than from one point to the next. Hope this helps in your problem solving.

Looking forward to receive a fix for this. Keep up the good work team.

@Eddy, I do have patience.
The issue I reported started 2 months ago. I see there are more members posting this, I even opened up a support ticket, yet still have the same issue.
@OndraM do you mean that not all my.avast web accounts have this problem? Is it only limited to a few accounts?
As I wrote, everything was working fine until that end of Feb or beginning of March update.

Be nice to see a fix for this problem . . . the map is just about useless now. Last time I knew I hadn't visited the South Pole. :((http://www.lafarge.k12.wi.us/Graphics/Avast%20map.JPG)

I just noticed something odd.
-
It seems that the problem is limited to specific locations.
The phone I am tracking was having showing this issue on the map while being in Thailand.
Then when flying to Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Kenya it showed the dots connecting correctly, so only while being in Thailand the problem occured.
Based on the map above (of mbankes), I see there are other locations with the same issue.
Does anybody here have any way to contact the developers and report these findings?

I lost 2 phones and when I try to locate I get a unable to contact message, I try to send a SMS command with no results as well. Can anyone help me find my phone

One Japanese user reported the same issue.

I'll add my concerns to the growing list. I have been having this same problem since an update within the last year, on ALL my devices (two PCs, two phones, and several tablets .... actually, ANY device I log in on, and no matter what browser). The photo that was posted reflects my results, too. Normally vertical lines going off screen, but, sometimes, horizontal lines. Before that - this was not a problem.

Still No Fix until now, very irritating..
No more premium subscription for me.. time to move on!
-
Sonny,
if you mean no more premium for AMS, you are correct.
There is no premium anymore, it has become freeware. ;)

Hi guys,
we finally find solution for this problem.
The fix should be released during this week.

Hello again,
sorry for the delay, but the fix is finally ready for you.
There is no action needed on your side. You can just check if tracking points are now connected properly.
Sincerely,
miraDi

The point are now connected, but there are worse bugs now.
1) It's impossible to select "today" from the date-picker or a date range of my choice, the map always display several days tracking. Basically, the date picker is completely unusable now.
2) Many times when selecting "today" from the date picker, the points disappear (the connecting lines still show)
3) When the points still show, if selecting "today" and zooming out with the mouse, the tracking points on the map are staying in the same window position, but not in the correct position on the map
The last update made using the map almost useless :(
Please fix it.
P.S. to clarify point 3

@miraDi
Thank you for your response.
Are there any new regarding this fix? Do you know when it will be applied?
Thanks again

This issue has been reported almost 2 months ago.
The previous issue took 1 year to get your developers attention and then when they tried to fix it, they made it worse with this version 5.7 and now it's in that worse condition for almost 2 months.
When are you planning to fix this?
Your mapping system worked perfectly fine until your update sometimes at the end of 2014. Since then it goes downhill. :(
Why don't you just roll back the changes you made in since 2014? I believe the last good working version was 5.3
