Title: avast pro not showing subscription info after update

So I updated avast pro program to the latest via- GUI and now either through tray icon or program itself when i click on my subscription info,  program closes itself.
Clean installation had no effect, the same scenario.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Same here

I upgraded my license for 3 computers, and had troubble to insert the new license to all my 3 Computers
After i upgraded to the latest version (2015.10.2.2214), my license funktion does not work on any of them.
Everything is ok in my.avast.com (there are the computers using the new license).

So if you right click with your mouse on tray icon on "Subscription Information" is it doing anything or if you open avast and go to settings/Subscription and click on it, does your avast closes itself, that's what mine does >:(

Hi Vapor :)

Try a repair of Avast! :

1) Start - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - Avast! - Change.
2) Repair.
3) Follow the instructions.
4) Reboot.

Hi,
I did that already I also did clean install using avast uninstall utility in safe mode.
I fail to mention, right after fresh install or even update through GUI it worked until I reboot, than its back to be the same scenario, this have never happen before :P

Well, I follow instruction that was giving to me by avast support person, it was quick response that was nice, the procedure  I have already done yesterday so I've done it again  and the same end result.
It shows subscription until I reboot.
I haven't change any hardware, software all PC settings are the same so I tend to believe it might be new version of avast related, maybe?

Windows 7 x64 and Outpost Firewall Pro.
This have been running nicely for several years and like I have mentioned earlier, nothing was change, modified.
As a matter of fact I run Deep Freeze Enterprise on all of my machines for years, so there will be  no changes in a slightest way to the system configuration,  the issue beats my curiosity, is the new version solely the issue :-X :(

Deep Freeze prevent changes so how did you update ??? Did you leave Deep Freeze off long enough to go through the install and a reboot. Also, long enough for the firewall changes to allow the new version of avast access through the firewall ???
Deep Freeze is nice, I use it at the Senior Center but, it can be problematic when it comes to adding, updating, changing or removing anything.

 :)  Don't get me wrong I appreciate your help and please don't take offense to my reply but Its common sense to thaw deep freeze prior to new software installation or changing any configuration in your PC, otherwise changes  will revert upon reboot.
I have been using deep freeze since pretty much the release of the first version, therefore I am active beta tester  for Faronics .
During install ( PC thaw state) you monitor what's installed and what registry is been changed, which all that is done through anti executable and firewall itself, there are other methods to compare whole registry prior and after installation to make sure that nothing else got changed other than what your installing but that's most time extreme monitoring which is not necessary.
Anyhow,  there is a lot of people that don't know much beyond basic computing but this issue  investigation is beyond simple steps, there is more to it that avast engineer need to look at.
I just reloaded an image of my previous windows install with earlier avast version and all works as intended and again I updated via- GUI and also did clean Install......problem persists :(

A Japanese user reported the same issue.
Reinstall using uninstall tool does not solve this.

I did a reboot after reinstalling avast, all worked okay.

Lukas, sorry the side question, but the support exe mentioned will work only for avast R2? Is there a "generic" exe for any (the latest) avast version?

I think you misunderstand something. The "R2" stands for the upcomming official "Release 2" of the Support tool which we are Beta testing now. It has nothing to do with the version(s) of Avast! AV releases.

When I rebooted, it worked, but then I turned it off for the night, and when my computer had started up, the problem was back :/

There is no access to the subscription information on either computer listed in my signature.  The Toshiba i7 was updated on March 2 thru the AvastUI without issue.

The Leveno had a clean install using AvastClear, after which I had to enter the subscription information, so it was available at that time.  Something has changed since then.

Even when I have opened the AvastUI and have access to the other settings, when I click on the subscription page Avast closes including the tray icon.  The tray icon is restarted automatically shortly thereafter.  This is on both machines.

I do have a third machine, a Dell laptop running Win7 Pro SP1.  It is running Avast Free 2015 10.2.2214 and was updated via the AvastUI.  There is no problem accessing the subscription information.

All three have a simple password on the Avast settings.  Once the password is entered and OKed is when AvastUI closes on the two machines.

My subscription info doesn't show either.

A repair doesn't fix it but a clean install (might?)

The fact is... it wasn't a bug in the previous versions.

It has to be an AIS problem since it not only effects Windows 7. I get the same thing on Windows 10 and essexboy is getting on Windows 8.1

Agreed Bob. They are also reporting that clicking STORE in Avast UI reproduce the issue. Can you confirm it ?

Could this be a result of the recent emergency update ?

Though some report that the last emergency update didn't resolve this.

I have only seen one go through as my Firewall has Anti-leak (a.k.a. HIPS) that is very hot on changed/new components accessing certain areas. I get about 6-8 popups for the EM Update, not to mention I get at least 1 from WinPatrol.

That is certainly the topic I was thinking about with others reporting no change after the EM Update.

Ok It is the same. For a moment there I thought there was another one this afternoon while I was out. Did not have anything in my HIPS ( BTW I have it not to alert me but to log it ) either nor my WP history showed anything.

Avast is taking time to fix this one. It is a miracle the forum is not flooding with users trying to register their paid programs.

But the Emergency Update from last night introduced it on both my systems.
So I don't think it is fixed.

Update both virus defenitions and program from the GUI and reboot Windows.
That is what I just did on both my systems to get it working again.

Right now it's updating Windows 10 to the next preview build. ;)
