Title: Avast messes with my Java
Post by: REDACTED on March 31, 2015, 10:16:06 AM
so i wanna play minecraft right,  like the only thing that has a use for java
and like avast seems to prevent it from working or something

and i know it's avast cause i turn it off and works fine,
minecraft login,  and the java verify checker

like basically it doesn't completely disable java,  it just freezes it or something
so for instance when i go to the java verify thing...  it just has a gray screen but doesnt work
it doesnt say "java plugin disabled or whatever"

so not sure what to do...  i just wanna have minecraft launcher working correctly

1. Download Avast Internet Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

avast firewall is the problem
not the other 4 or 5 shields

so my question is,  how do i make it so it doesnt cock block java stuff
exceptions,  but they are already on it

i dont understand,  so by default the firewall configures any new program like java

i even put all bars for easy access
and it still gives problems for java

firewall off,  no problem
on,  frozen java
