Hello, I have been using Avast, for probably two years now and I thoroughly trustful, and very fond of Avast! But what I wanted to ask was is it alright to have Avast and Windows OneCare running together? I haven't run into any problems so far... What should I do? Remove Avast, Windows OneCare, and/or just leave it.

Since Windows OneCare is a BETA version, I wouldn't rely on it.
Since OneCare is also a av, it can give conflicts with Avast.
Can you do me a little favor?
Can you send me a HijackThis log?
I want to see what entries OneCare is making, so I can add them to HiLoA

With windows OneCare you only have OneProblem, OneCare ;D
There is a potential for conflict with avast as it attempts to do a similar job to avast. There have been a number of conflicts reported in some eNewsletters but the major one seemed to be no add/remove uninstall program or difficulties removing it when you had enough.

M$ said they will join the corporate antivirus market because users are asking so. There is an agreement with Symantec and McAfee for that.
To home users they'll deliver OneCare, ALotOfTroubles tool.
The more antitrust demands, the more M$ eats market and don't allow other companies :(

So I should remove OneCare...

That decision has to be yours based on your need for the functions it provides and any likelihood of conflict with other software you have doing the same job.
I haven't seen a need for it as I have things fairly buttoned with other software (that isn't beta either). I also haven't installed MS anti-spyware beta either, there is no way I will be an unpaid beta tester for MS with the potential for problems with beta software and a total lack of support of it by MS.
Also trusting beta software to securing your PC, on a spare PC no problem but not on your only PC.

with the good & Free "Ad-Aware", best downloaded
from www.majorgeeks.com . In addition, it would be
wise to install "Ewido", available from www.ewido.net
as a "companion" to your antivirus & antispyware
program(s); it "specializes" in detecting & removing
trojans, worms, dialers, etc .
