Title: Eicargen test virus not detected

Following the instructions in a UK magazine (Computeractive Iss447 pg42) there was an article on using the Eicargen test virus to test the response of the A/V. This did not work for my system.

My questions are
a)   Does Avast recognise Eicargen V2.1 as a test virus
b)   If not, then is there an equivalent that Avast does recognise
c)    If Avast does recognise it, are there problems with my settings?

Hi Aysn,

  The recommended way for AVAST did give the response in the way detailed in the link, so all OK.

  Thanks for the help (I did search the Forum but got no hit for Eicargen, but missed the obvious FAQ -sorry)
