Title: Reformatting hard drive
Post by: REDACTED on June 16, 2015, 09:03:39 PM
I have given it a lot of thought, and I have decided that I've got too much junk and outdated software on my computer, some of which runs in the background.
It is time to start from scratch, meaning:
I'm going to use my recover disk to reformat my hard drive and reinstall the operating system.
Then, I will need to reinstall all programs that I am currently using.
As for my software licensing, I've got to believe that this is going to look like I have installed my software on a different computer.

So, what I need to know from you:
How do I deregister the previous installation so that the the reinstallation does not look to you like an installation on an additional computer?

You shouldn't need to de-register it as such - the format and start from scratch shouldn't leave any tract of the previous installation. You could however, logon to your my.avast.com account and remove the device.

You should save a copy of your avast license for use with the reinstalled avast version or get it from here - Resend avast License http://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php (http://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php), you will need to enter the email that you used when purchasing the license, e.g. the one that the original email with the link was sent.
