Title: Invalid licensenumber
Post by: zorlith on November 04, 2005, 10:28:03 AM
Hi,

First of all, I'm using Avast a couple of years now and am very pleased with it.

However, since my license key expired, I'm having problems updating it.

I have reregistered at avast.com and got the new license key by e-mail, but this license doesn't work.
I get an errormessage INVALID LICENSENUMBER.

I checked the licensekey that I got by email and it is 1 character longer than what I can type in ( ABOUT AVAST -> LICENSEN KEY).

The avast version I use is 4.1 home edition. Update is not possible. License key expired.

Am I doing something wrong or do I haven a wrong key.

Wit regards,

Zorlith

Update your version of avast first. It is too old.

Then copy/paste the key from the email.
Make sure you don't have a trailing space at the end.

The new registration key may not work with such an old version of avast.

I suggest that you download the latest version of avast which is 4.6.691, uninstall your old version, boot and install the latest version and try entering the key again.
