the 3d pinball game won't work i click on the game and it shows the black screen that says 3d pinball than just goes away and doesn't start. So i end up back at my desktop even though i clicked on the game. Is this because of some kind of malware if so how can i fix it.
Windows XP Home Edition SP2 All updates
AMD Sempron 2800+

If you mean the game that comes with Win XP, I've got no problems with it on my system. Malware's a remote possiblity, but I'd say unlikely if you're not running into the problem with other apps.
Another possibility is that you've got problems with Direct-X, which many if not most graphics-intensive games and similar apps rely on. Try checking it with the Win DX Diagnostic -- if you don't have a shortcut to it anywhere, it's C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxdiag.exe on my system.

You can always uninstall then reinstall the program if the above doesnt work. Sounds like a Windows glitch.
