Title: Unable to Change Account Password
Post by: REDACTED on July 17, 2015, 11:01:11 AM
I've been trying to change my password at my.avast.com, but it fails despite repeated attempts.

Each time, when I click 'Save', 3 asterisks are added to the 'Current Password' field and an error shows 'Provided old password is not valid'.

The same password is valid to log in to my account, and I'm sure of this.

Using Firefox on Win7. Any help would be most appreciated.

Many thanks.

I've also seen another topic on what seems to be the same issue:

https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=163257.0

I find no resolution to that either.

To repeat - I am attempting to change the password I use to login to my.avast.com, but I'm still faced with the issue I mention above.

Can anyone else duplicate this issue?

Many thanks.

EDIT:

Issue is also identical on IE

Just got email from Avast with topic: "Reminder: Avast Forum Password Change".

And I have the same problem. In my.avast.com trying to change the password says: "Provided old password is not valid." How stupid is this?! I'm logged in with that password and trying to change it, like advised, Avast website tells me that it is incorrect.

Old password 30 chars long, tried new password too 30 chars long (Avast tells: "Great! This is a strong password"), same character set used.

EDIT: Ignore this, for some reason now it worked after several tries. I dunno what happened.
