I am having problems updating avast from seychelles, I am from seychelles if you must know. I use mainly the free avast and the avast business security for my clients. Whenever I try to do updates avast tries to connect to a server which is closest to my region, which seems to be the main issue here, either its down or has technical issues. I used a vpn service and thus forced avast to essentially connect to an update server in another geographical region and lo and behold everything just works. Can you please investigate this issue. I am available if you need more info.

I have been able to get into contact with my I.S.P , cws seychelles, they are the culprit in this and it is more likely that they are using a dns proxy. The proxy is returning the wrong I.P address for the avast update server , which means that the avast client is trying to update from servers which may be non existent. I managed to contact someone from technical support and they say they will sort this out.

OK, thanks for the feedback.

Issue resolved,Avast is updating fine and all dns entries are pointing towards the correct servers for avast.. Have yet to get some feedback from tech support at my ISP , but at least now I know I don't need to troubleshoot all those avast installs for nothing. Hope someone learns from this .
Thanks for any help.
