Hi all,
New beta version is released: AVAST 2015 R4 RC (build number 2015.10.4.2232).
This is release candidate, again available for all users, including XP users.
I know this beta testing of R4 was little bit boring, but don't worry the next beta will be for V2016 and there will be more fun for you ;-) Coming soon...
Changes:
- removed limitation for Windows XP users

How to install:
1. If you have installed some beta version before you can update it to this latest version via Settings->Update->Program.
2. Or you can download and install from here:

It should be possible to install this version on top of your existing avast! installation (all settings should be preserved).
To report BSODs, crashes or any other none trivial problems please use new SupportPackage generating tool.

Installed .2232 over .2231, rebooted, and so far there are no problems with my system.

Downloaded avast free and installed 10.4.2232 over 10.3.2225, I used custom install, deselecting tools I don't use.
Note: the Program update is still being changed/set to Auto Update, that is bad - as I have mentioned before - as it can update at a time that isn't convenient.
The problem with XP Scanning HTTPS on yahoo.com appears to have been resolved, certainly the limited test that I have done.
The issue with doing a manual VPS update (certainly in XP) where it would cycle back to RED (unprotected) AMBER and GREEN bands in the UI also appears to have been resolved (getting late here).
Will continue checking tomorrow.

Install 2232 by using the Update function in the settings. All went well including keeping custom settings / tools etc. However, the HTTPS scanning of images on ca.yahoo.com seems to be it and miss.

yes if you make the clean installation then the settings is to Auto. If you change it to Manual or Notify, then it won't be overridden with the next beta update. For us is crucial to have as many users as possible on the latest beta version.

Update from previous Beta didnt work on Windows 10 Build 10532:
-Error code 10013 after reboot and Firewall broken
-Avast repair broke Avast entirely (Language.dll can no longer be found)
I will clean install :)

Updated over 10.4.2231. Unfortunately, GIF images on Wikipedia are still not loaded at all. :(

I do appreciate that the more people on the beta build the better, but I was doing an off-line install of the beta build over 2225.
I would suggest that you could choose the 'Ask when an update is downloaded,' this would still be getting as many prior or current beta testers on board, but it would give them time to do the update when convenient.

Just update to build 2232 from the UI and rebooted.
No problems so far :)

The Smart Scan still isn't so smart.
The same errors are occurring that were in earlier versions.
If you run the Smart Scan it reports errors when none exist. I don't have the Cleanup installed in tools only the Software Updater and Home Network Security. If I run the Smart Scan it reports problems in the home network. If I do nothing but run the Home Network Security scan in isolation it returns everything OK.

@MartinZ: My feedback about this beta is unrelated, but I gave you an private message dated 30/08/2015 at 00:15:08. Message heading is Avast Support Ticket #BYU-790-31187. You haven't replied back to that message.
This is related to an existing minor bug that I have discovered in couple of previous versions of Avast and it still remains. Avast Support told me that they have received my ticket and finding a fix for this and apply major changes i.e. in this regard will be applied in the next major update expected in a couple of months. Will it get fixed in the final version of R4 or in Avast 2016? If this bug won't be fixed in the next upcoming RC versions for R4 and in the final version of R4, can you please take note of this and apply a fix in the beta, RC versions, and in the final version of Avast! 2016. Would be very appreciated to see this minor bug get fixed asap.

My AIS just updated to 2015.10.4.2233 but in about Avast it says nothing about being a Beta but the overview does.

Build 2233 for me as well, maybe a second Release Candidate or they forgot to remove the BETA stamp.

I had program version set to manual but it just automatically installed 2015.10.4.2233.

I am updated to 10.4.2233.It is not a beta and few new thing like privacy and HIPS is removed one option.No problem so far :)
