It looks like some temporary files created when scanning the content of archives...
You can safely delete those files. You may try to check the files (e.g. their Version Info - "Properties") and locate the original files on your disk. It's possible that avast! incorrectly leaves the temp files on disk for the particular kind of archive...

Thanks mina for posting. This is happening with me too (C:\WINDOWS\Temp\_av_proI.tm~a03416). Why are not these files deleted automaticaly?

It may be a bug of the unpacker engine... if you manage to identify the files (archives) that cause this, it would help a lot :)

C:\WINDOWS\Temp\_av_proI.tm~a03416

Are you sure you typed the file path correctly? Isn't there a backslash missing somewhere?

Thanks
Vlk

Vlk, please, I do not type file paths, I copied it from the Address Bar of Windows Explorer...
Igor, now I have the same one (C:\WINDOWS\Temp\_av_proI.tm~a03196) but it is empty!  ::)

Is it possible to say (according to the date for example) when were these folder created (i.e. what action could cause this - on-demand scan, program / vps update...)?

Maybe after a cubic meter of beer I could guess  ;D

Never mind, the folder is usually empty. Anyway I'll see if I could know something about it (maybe VPS update...)
