Title: SPAM issue
Post by: REDACTED on October 09, 2015, 05:19:26 PM
I've had Avast about a month now and the spam killer works pretty good, but lately it seems some spammer are still getting through and they ALL have the exact same subject line. Is there a way to fine tune the spam killer so as to not only blacklist their email addy but the subject line as well? It's getting so annoying now that daily I have to "black list" and tag as "spam" the same emails over and over again because they use different email addys.

HELP???????????????????????????????????????

...Nicholas

FAQ  https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB167#artTitle

most mail clients (if you use one) have spam or message rules settings
if you acess your mail account from web you should find the same settings there or a option to mark a mail as spam

That "bot" designation (of which there's 3 or 4 sub-categories) is essentially just an in-joke, and is automatically assigned to any member who's posted a huge number of times, typically over a number of years.  Possibly someone else can steer you to the current definitions of post-count-based "ratings".  Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Thanks, Asyn, I was obviously too lazy to hunt for it myself.  :)

ok.. you're not a bot.. good to hear. But my original question was never answered. It was "Is there a way to fine tune the spam killer so as to not only blacklist their email addy but the subject line as well?"

And I use MS Outlook 2010 (ugh) and it's spam settings are so useless I bought your software.

Why not setup your own rules for managing the mails ?
