I recently opened Google Chrome, the primary web-browser I use on a daily basis, and it automatically loads Google's home page by default.
Avast gave a pop-up which said something along the lines of, "This site is known for phishing." That was not the exact message, but it was similar. I do not have a screenshot of the pop-up, but I was able to attach a screenshot of the Avast Online Security extension which claims that Google has a bad reputation.
I have never had this issue before, and I have noticed at least one other post with more than one person reporting a similar problem.
The attached image is not the original pop-up, but is instead the window for the Avast Online Security extension.
Any advice, anyone?

use Viruses and Worms forum section for reporting False Positives ... and already reported there https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=178821.0

I find it quite incredible that avast tout google so much and yet somehow mistake their page for a phishing site.

I visited Google.com using firefox 42.0 and no alert.
I don't use the the AOS browser security add-on, but that shouldn't change the other alert images I have seen reported.

I had this occur using Firefox browser (set to Google.com as homepage) but NOT when opening google.com with IE10. Seriously? What's up with this?

It would appear that this issue is only involving Firefox, see other related topic HERE (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=178825.msg1265711#msg1265711)

Unfortunately, it is not exclusive to Firefox - I am using Google as my browser & their home page as my opening screen as well, and have received this same message multiple times over the past few hours. I don't even have Firefox installed on this dinosaur anymore (running Windows XP). However, my laptop is new & have not received the phishing warning at all on that one...[/size]

It has been fixed already, see: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=178821.msg1265818#msg1265818
