Title: Problem with Office 2003 an COM add in
Post by: tixoman on November 25, 2003, 05:50:35 PM
Hi
a view weeks ago i installed Office 2003 and with an update of Avast Email-Scanning finally workt and scanned my incomming an outgouing Mails (trouble with inserting note that Email has been scanned...).

Yesterday i realiesed that the Pop Up window when opening Outlook hasn't been visible and a short look to the avast on access scanner told me that although Outlook (in Exchange Modus) was running, the scanner is waiting for subsystem to start.

I look in Outlook if the COM add in was deaktivated but i found it active.
I re-installed Avast without an effect.
I repaired Office 2003 ==> no effect
I again reinstalled Avast without an effect.

Now i don't know what to do.

Can someone tell me what might be wrong ? ???

Thanks a lot.

In Outlook, open the About box, and click the 'Disabled Items' box. A window with a list should appear. If the avast plugin is in the list, just remove it. That's all.

Normally the list is empty but sometimes Outlook gets nuts and disables some of its add-ins... :-\

This also applies to Outlook XP.

Hope this helps,
Vlk

Thanks a lot :D
It works again !!!

I wouldn't have searched there.

May be you can tell me what's the different between the ABOUTBOX disable and the COM Add INS disable in the Options
