Title: Red ball with white 'x' in system tray
Post by: _nick_ on December 08, 2005, 06:21:06 PM
I've ran a scan on my PC (running Windows XP Service Pack 1) and did not find anything. As you can tell from the attached image, the Avast programs are running as well.

Both system tray icons are randomly popping up a warning message stating "You're Computer is Infected!".

Anybody have any ideas on removal of these pesky icons?

Oh, and by the way, hello everyone! I'm a newb - so let me know if there has been another thread discussed about this in the past.

Hello :)

Do you have adware/spyware removing program, if you don't, see the links below and use one to try to remove the spyware ;)
Ad-Aware SE Personal - http://www.lavasoft.com/software/adaware/
Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4 - http://www.spybot.info/en/download/index.html (http://www.spybot.info/en/download/index.html)
a2 FREE - http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

It's highly recommended to install SP2 for WinXP! Why are you still using SP1?

I hope this will help you :)
