Title: Temporarily disabling Avast
Post by: REDACTED on November 23, 2015, 02:17:43 PM
I'm trying, and failing, to temporarily turn off Avast anti-virus & firewall while I install a WiFi printer. Clicked on the avast icon in the system tray, then clicked on settings, but nowhere is there a "disable Avast" option. Have spoken to Avast, who declined to help me unless I paid £129! Can anyone advise please?

You should not need to turn Avast off whilst installing drivers... But , if need be right click the Avast icon  > select Shield Control > select disable for 10 minutes

Indeed there is no reason to disable avast to install a printer.

No, you have not spoken to avast but a third party "support" center.
Yes, if you want help from them with installing the printer you will need to pay them.
Help/support for avast is free, but installing a printer is not a problem with avast.
