~ Prevents boot-up registry Defrag ? ~
Appears to prevent boot-up registry Defrag by Auslogics Registry Defrag.
How do I disable Avast at boot-up to allow Auslogics Registry Defrag ?
Thanks

Only way to do so is disabling avast permanently or completely remove it.
But there is no need at all to run a registry defrag at boot time.

I used Puran, Glary or Ultradefrag boot time defragmentation and they work very well side by side with Avast.

I've just tried Glary with '16 Avast and Zilch. It was blocked. Is there a current workaround for this problem?

While you didn't say so, I'm assuming you're getting a warning from the HIPS section of the file shield, as I was getting when trying to boot-defrag with Puran. If you go into Settings/Resident/File Shield/Sensitivity, down at the bottom you'll see a setting for HIPS (misbehavior) sensitivity showing three columns.
Try lowering the HIPS sensitivity a notch/column at a time, rebooting each time, and see if that helps. In my case, I found that with the intermediate setting (2 columns lit), Puran could boot-defrag fine and I still had a fair bit of HIPS protection active.

Try disabling avast self protection.
