Title: Can't access my Avast Account (WinXP)
Post by: Shamino on December 06, 2015, 12:16:41 AM
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen

Problem:

I can't access my Avast account from inside Avast Internet Security on a PC running Windows XP service pack 3. Everytime I try (and boy have I tried) i get the following text:

Unexpected Error
An unexpected error occurred on the server, we are working on the solution.

with a "Refresh" button in the bottom.   I have noticed that every try produces an entry like this:

[1206/004836:ERROR:renderer_main.cc(207)] Running without renderer sandbox

in the file avastium.log. Interestingly, clicking the "Refresh" button does not produce any entry in the aforementioned log file.  It doesn't do anything else either (except animates the button for a while).

I have had this problem since i upgraded from the free version of Avast last month. However when using the free version I was completely unaware of this Account feature after years of Avast running in the background. So theoretically the problem might have been there all along, i just never used my Account before. Anyone here with similar problem? How did you resolve this or did you? This feature not working casts doubt over the whole Internet Security. Any and all comments appreciated.
