Title: The time has come
Post by: REDACTED on December 06, 2015, 11:00:30 AM
Having fallen asleep on my KB while trawling the forum for the answer I need, I;ve decided tp stop looking for something that doesn.t seem to be there. However, I still find myself needing to make changes to my setup, all without remembering the MASTER password.
There doesnt appear to be a forgot/reset password link, anywhere on the sign in.
Avast Free 2014 9 0 2021. It's also preventing ather programs from updating citing the ubiquitous Win32-evo gen SUSP.  NUTSHELL: HOW DO I RESET MASTER PASSWORD?

         Many Thanks.

1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

Sometimes it's not possible to uninstall Avast the standard way - using the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS in control panel. In this case, you can use our uninstallation utility avastclear.

Download avastclear.exe on your desktop - DONE
Start Windows in Safe Mode - HOW do I do this?
    Open (execute) the uninstall utility
If you installed Avast in a different folder than the default, browse for it. (Note: Be careful! The content of any folder you choose will be deleted!) - I've upgraded to WINDOWS 10.  I have no idea where any programs are installed.  Windows 10 is Greek to me. I do not understand why they messed it up so badly.
     Click REMOVE
Restart your computer

Just start the tool, it'll do it for you.
