Tried to update my Blackberry Link software. BB website offers v1.2.0.52_B59.exe. Avast blocks the download.
Downloaded on another PC having McAfee antivirus OK.
Scanned the .exe with Avast and get no threat found.
Attempted to install and Avast blocks the .exe
I assume this could be a false positive ?

What shield/part of avast is preventing it to install ?
-
Eddy,
I dont know which component of Avast blocked the download, but part file in Virus Chest now deleted and submitted to lab was labelled as infected by:
"Win32:EVOGen[Susp]"
I also attempted to install from memory stick. Blocked also stating "Win32:EVOGen[Susp]" as the villain.
I have also tried with DeepScreen OFF and reputation services OFF but to no effect.

Please report it to avast as a (possible) false positive:

Eddy,
Yes that was about the first thing I did. I guess I wont know when it is fixed until I attempt to update again. I will give it a few days as old version of BB Link works (just about).
