Title: Help!!
Post by: brucejw on December 14, 2005, 07:58:17 AM
I've run the latest spybot, the latest avast updates and everything.

I've just updated all my windows securities.

Everytime I reboot my computer, Microsuck AntiSpyware warns me that something has dropped my IE security settings to it's lowest, and straight after that the  Avast Web Protection engine now warns me that a virus has been detected and asks me if I want to block it. I said yes, of course.

But how do I get rid of this problem? Nothing is picked up.

Hi and welcome ,
Your best bet would be a boot scan . If that finds it again Avast! will give you the option to delete or repair or move to chest. move to chest is usually the safest option unless you know what you are doing.
Did Avast web sheild actually give the virus a name?
It might be recorded in the log see pic

:) Sounds like you have something more serious than a
virus !? Perhaps you have some spyware that
     "Microsuck Antispyware" has deliberately "de-listed",
like Gator/Claria !? Perhaps something would show up in
the "running processes" portion of a "Full System Scan"
     Ad-Aware SE logfile !? And have you run a good ( & FREE )
     anti-trojan program like Ewido ?
