Title: I can't find my topics
Post by: REDACTED on December 31, 2015, 11:24:24 PM
I started to type a search in the search box and several suggestions popped down. I recognized them so I selected one and clicked search. the search results for: ( My search selection ) appeared at the bottom of the page and indicated "Pages: [1]". But that was not a link! What's my mistake? Thanks

But why do all my searches give the same results and why does the search box show a drop down list? Is it a bug?

The 1 just means it is page 1, it doesn't indicated if anything is found or not.

You must use keywords, not entire sentences when searching.

It looks like you should shorten your search. You may have 'Match all words' selected which may be the cause of the problem. It's looking for all those words and not finding it.

The search function on this forum really isn't that great. IMHO

The search function on this forum really isn't that great. IMHO

I would second that, it isn't very user friendly and you really have to hit the right search terms or you get buried in dross.

Whilst it is possible to delimit the sub-forums it searches to reduce the number of hits, it isn't very flexible.

That's the problem when you have no control over the forum software and its embedded search function.
