Title: Unable to obtain Internet Access while Web Shield is enabled
Post by: Robert333 on January 14, 2016, 02:02:40 PM
Hello,

I have an Asus Netbook 1005P, running Windows 7, SP1, with Internet Explorer 11, and which is up-to-date with Windows Updates.

I have Avast Antivirus Pro which is also up-to-date:
Program version: 11.1.2245
Virus definitions version: 160111-0

I was today unable to connect to the Internet (using Internet Explorer).
There were up to 13 or so connections to the Internet being made by Avast.
I was only able to connect to the Internet once I had disabled Avast Web Shield.

Is this a recognised issue, and when will a fix be made?

Regards,

Robert333

Hello Pondus,

Thanks for your response.

Rather, how about Avast doing a software repair on their Web Shield?

People have been having this issue with the "Web Shield" over some years now, and through different versions of Avast. You only have to search the issue in Google.
